Dustin Johnson holds a one-shot lead heading into what promises to be a crazy Sunday at Riviera Country Club, where he will hopefully get 36 holes finished.
Rain has been problematic this week, forcing Johnson to complete just two rounds through Saturday, but the PGA Tour will try to finish all four rounds by sundown on Sunday.
Johnson, who has two runner-up finishes at this event but no wins, has a chance to grab the No. 1 spot on the world rankings. Just don’t ask him how it can happen.
“I’m not there yet. I don’t really worry about that,” Johnson said, via golfchannel.com. “I want to put myself in a position to win this golf tournament. That’s really all I care about is what it takes to get it done here. The rest of the stuff, the points and world golf rankings, I would like to get there, but I’m not worried about it.”
If Johnson wins, and Jason Day, who is currently tied for 53rd at 1 under, finishes outside the top 3, then Johnson will be the world’s new top-ranked golfer.
Even sweeter, Johnson’s fiancée, Paulina Gretzky, announced on social media that she is expecting the couple’s second child.
