Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) will meet Snart (Wentworth Miller) for the first time in Season 2, episode 15 of “Legends of Tomorrow.” And because this version of Snart is a member of Legion of Doom and is unlike the Snart the original Legends knew, Amaya instantly sees him as a threat.
“He returns as a part of the Legion, so he automatically, in her eyes, is a baddie,” Richardson-Sellers told Entertainment Weekly in a recent interview. “He’s just a baddie to her, and that means one thing: that they have to eliminate him.”
That mission, however, isn’t going to be easy for Amaya because the arrival of this new version of Snart weighs heavily on his former partner Rory (Dominic Purcell). “She cares a lot about Rory,” Richardson-Sellers said of Amaya. “So seeing how that affects Rory [is difficult for her].”
Details about the new version of Snart are very limited, but Miller told Entertainment Weekly at the Television Critics Association’s press tour in January that his character is a “straight up villain” when Rory and the rest of the Legends meet him again.
“He hasn’t gone on that first season ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ journey yet,” Miller said of the version of Snart that will appear in episode 15. “So when we meet him again — quote unquote alive in 2017 — I imagine that he’s going to be much like when we first met him the first season on ‘The Flash,’ which I’m looking forward to, because it means I get to arc to a completely different place.”
In addition to Snart’s much-awaited return, episode 15 also sees the Legends looking for ways to destroy the Spear of Destiny before someone from the them is tempted to use it for selfish reasons and before it falls back into the hands of the Legion of Doom.
According to the synopsis for the episode, the Legends find themselves in France at the height of World War I where they enlist the help of a soldier named John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (Jack Turner) as they try to resist the temptation of the powerful spear.
“Legends of Tomorrow” Season 2, episode 15, titled “Fellowship of the Spear,” airs tonight at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
